A prominent traditional ruler in Osun State, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, Oba. Dr Michael Odunayo Ajayi, JP Arowotawaya II, has called on Nigerians to join hands with their leaders to develop their community.

The Elerinmo made this call on Saturday while speaking during the celebration of 37th year remembrance of the one time Bobagunwa of Erinmo-Ijesa, late Chief Joshua Alaba Agoro and unveiling of TVET College and Secondary School at Erinmo-Ijesa.

The distinguish traditional ruler also stressed the need for communities to identify and harness their potential to enhance economic growth at the grassroots.

Oba Arowotawaya, noted that lots of potentials that could be harnessed for development abound in the community.

He said, “We have a lot of places, tourist attractions here in Erinmo-Ijesa that we need to project to the world, to bring tourists to and to enhance the development of our town and we are putting up a strategic plan on how to develop the town.

" Similarly, am happy to inform you all that, there is an investment opportunities in Erinmo in the areas of Rice production and processing, value added food processing, education, manufacturing industries just to mention a few while there are sufficient land for both local and international investors in the area".

The traditional ruler who commended the children of late Pa Joshua Alaba Agoro for immortalizing their father, urged the entire residents of Erinmo-Ijesa community, to continue to live in peace, love and harmony without which development cannot be achieved.

The Elerinmo who used the medium to commends President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing illustrious sons of Yoruba community to a strategic position namely, Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Comptroller of Custorm and Inspector General of Police, IGP respectively said, "the incumbent administration has done well on this aspect while the development would remain on the marble".

The Elerinmo who was highly elated at the colourful and well attended ceremony said the children of the deseased has done well towards the development of the ancient Erinmo-Ijesa community with the establishment of the schools.

While speaking, some of the deseased children, Mrs Iyabode Popoola and others described their late father as a good and caring father.

"Our father was a very successful business man in which his philantropist gesture has touched many lives from far and near as he loved to be creating happiness for others that came his way then.

"What we are doing today is not by accident but what we inherited from our late father as part of what he taught us then.

"The Janet Agoro primary school, as well as students of the technical college would be competing with others not only in Osun State but entire nation while we are also interested in empowering few small scale traders in the community for them to have enough essential goods like their counterparts in Ilesa, Osogbo among others.

Also speaking, Engr Ademola Agoro who is also the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer of Protogy Global Services Limited, said that, the establishment of the IT-Driven Technical College in the ancient Erinmo-Ijesa community was to give youths a life time opportunity for them to be who they want to be and also compete favourably with their peers globally.

According to Engr Ademola Agoro, "this is going to be a double school, it is going to be technical school and Secondary where students will learn about robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Industrial 4. It is not going to be a regular school as those that don't want to go to ordinary Technical College may further their studies here.

"We have partners all around the world, people that finishes here can further their education anywhere in the world".

While speaking on the fund for the school, Engr Agoro stressed that, the school will be sustained through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of Protogy Global Services Limited and partners within and outside Nigeria, saying that the school will only admit those students that are ready to learn.

He added further that, "We also have tractors for those who are interested in farming for free of charge as part of our efforts while there is 24 hours electricity supply in the school premises through the solar energy supply as we don't want any interruption".

Joshua Agoro Technical College, Erinmo-Ijesa in Osun State can boast of a conducive learning environment, learning equipment, qualified and trained teaching staff that are well equipped in ensuring effective teaching of the students adequately.

The schools would offer the following courses like, Robotic technology, Artificial intelligence, Phyton Coding, Big Data, Industrial Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Robotic technology, Spot Welding and CNG Conversion among others.
