Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed the state Commissioner of Police to immediately arrest all persons suspected to be involved in the killing of Mr. Ajagungbade, popularly known as Emir.
The governor’s directive followed the reported killing, which was allegedly linked to a leadership tussle at one of the state’s motor parks.
In response to the incident, Adeleke also ordered the immediate vacation of motor parks by rival groups involved in the dispute and directed the reintroduction of the Park Management System across the state.
The governor, while calling for calm among residents, directed security agencies to restore normalcy in affected motor parks and ensure the maintenance of law and order across the state.
He said the state government would soon issue an Executive Order to formally establish the Park Management System, which he said was aimed at restoring discipline, orderliness and effective management across motor parks and garages in Osun.
Adeleke charged the Commissioner of Police to act immediately against those responsible for the killing, stressing that no individual would be treated as being above the law.
“Law and order must be maintained.
There will be no sacred cows as all culprits will be brought to book,” the governor said.
He further appealed to members of the public to remain calm, assuring them that the government would work with security agencies to restore and sustain peace in all affected parks and communities.
“We call on members of the public to remain calm. We will ensure restoration of peace in all the affected parks and areas. The security agencies are under instruction to ensure the sustainability of peace at all cost.
“We are reintroducing the Park Management System. I will soon issue an executive order to give effect to the new management system to manage parks and garages across the state,” Adeleke stated.
