57TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY AND OUR SUBMISSIONS FOR POSSIBLE WAYS FORWARD
Nigeria is 57 today, evidence that our dear country is progressing. Does any progress in age symbolize the progress of the nation? This is a fundamental question all Nigerians, We mean all patriotic Nigerians should be asking one another wherever they are celebrating this beautiful anniversary in any part of the world.

There are some words that should be kept unsaid perfectly because we would not want to sound like  critics whose potentialities are felt only in the presence of what we all only known to be national woes and leadership flaws.

Candidly, we acknowledge the fact that no freedom is ever recorded in silence before oppression from higher authorities, sociopolitical tension, economic instability, ethnic bitterness, potent hunger, acute corruption, financial imprudence and malnutrition of children of nobody.

Hence, we shall consider ourselves dutifully challenged to make some humble submissions on this beautiful day, and we would urge great people of Nigeria not to see them as criticism but valuable submissions can be freely, critically examined and applied for the betterment of our dear nation.

The cries for restructuring had become the essential point of discussion in the national dailies and prominent blogs, and as at the time of production of this press statement, the cries and demands for restructuring were at a peak.

The heterogeneous structure of our dear Nigeria has made what should be restructuring complex or ambiguous to decipher, as what a Yoruba man calls restructuring may be completely or slightly different from that of a Hausa man and that of a Hausa man different from that of an Igbo man.

Nevertheless, it becomes an obligation on the Federal Government to bring the major tribes to a roundtable and gather what their cries and agonies are, and fine-tune possible remedies.

We congratulate millions of great Nigerian people residing at home and in the Diaspora for witnessing Nigeria increasing in age.

The need for All Progressive Congress (APC) led federal government to consider the students and youth community in the restructuring policies of the nation.

Territories with controversial ownership should be addressed, for instance, the Kogi and Kwara States should be allowed to decide whether to join the Yoruba race or remain Northerners possibly through a referendum.

The autonomy of the local government councils should be constitutionally guaranteed, but measures should be put be placed to enable enough and adequate monitoring of the local government resources to avoid misappropriation and mismanagement.

The Federal system remains the best government system at this critical state, but measures should be put in place to ensure equitable distribution of resource's and massive production of resources to enable full equal distribution.

Adequate security intelligence and operations should be adopted to totally curb the brutal extremism designed by all Terrorist affiliated groups or association

With the above humble submission, we believe and believe and fervently hopefully believe our dear nation would be dramatically lifted from abyss of national disgrace to the height of glory.

Signed.

Miftah Saheed Taiwo
