In its efforts to make all roads motorable in the State, the Osun Road Maintenance Agency, ORMA, has said that, the on going general road rehabilitation efforts in the state is aimed at making major roads be in good shape for easy inter city movement.
According to the General Manager, Engineer Olu Olowookere who stated this in a chat with journalists at Gbonga-Ibadan road during the carrying out rehabilitation exercise by men of the agency in Osogbo, informed that, the step became imperative to compliment efforts of the present administration in the area of road infrastructure.
Engr Olowookere noted that the agency has already discovered new technology for its maintenance and rehabilitation efforts to ensure longevity and durability of roads across the state.
The General Manager pointed out that the adoption of the new technology would place the state in position of advantage as the new approach was cost effective.
He explained that the agency intervention had helped to sustain some roads in the state with the hope of opening the state for economic prosperity.
The General Manager gave assurance that with the passage of 2018 budget by the house, the agency would now have opportunity to carry out reconstruction and rehabilitation in major roads that needs attention.
He hinted that the present administration was keen about road infrastructure hence it heavy investment in the sector, submitting that Governor Rauf Aregbesola's led administration would not rest on its laurel in the task of making major roads in the state accessible and motorable.
Engr Olowookere called on the people of the state to continue to support government in its quest to make the state symbol of emulation in terms of road network.
The ORMA boss, emphasized the need for corporate organizations and well meaning individual to support government and ensure prompt payment of their dues for government to carry out its responsibilities.
