The former Chairman of Irewole local government area of Osun State, Akogun Lere oyewumi has vowed to use its administrative acumen and political expedient to change the face of governance in Osun state if given opportunity to occupy the first seat in the state.
Akogun Oyewumi stated this in Osogbo at the People's Democratic Party, PDP Secretariat, where he submitted his letter of interest to the Chairman of the Party, Hon Soji Adagunodo on his interest to contest for 22nd September governorship election in the state under the platform of the party.
The former Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON in the state said his over two decades experience in public administration had place him in vintage position to govern the state with a distinct.
He noted that if given opportunity to govern the state people of the state would be the centre piece of his administration as human empowerment and development would be accorded top priority.
The immediate past Commissioner in the National Population Commission, NPC, faulted the style of governor Rauf Aregbesola administration, saying the governor had placed the state in debt.
He hinted that the quantum of debt burden placed on the state by the present administration was not commiserated with the acclaimed infrastructural development in the state.
Akogun Oyewunmi maintained that the mega schools constructed by the incumbent government in the state could not justify the output as students performance was on decline.
He informed people of the state that it was only PDP that had solution to their suffering, submitting that the people of the state had never been submitted to this level of suffering.
The veteran politician explained that he was the best candidate for the party as it tentacles spread across the state and all his investment and interest were domiciled in the state.
He However appealed to the leadership of the PDP in the state to give all aspirants a level playing ground and promised to support any candidate that emerged through fair and transparent primary.
In a remark, the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, Hon Soji Adagunodo said Akogun Oyewumi was a committed party member that had contributed significantly to sustainability of the party in the state.
Adagunodo hinted that Lere Oyewumi had an intimidating credentials that placed him advantage as best candidate for the party.
He however assured the aspirants with it teeming supporters that besieged the party secretariat that all aspirants would be given equal opportunity to test their popularity.
