The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has been described as home to all politicians of progressive leanings in the country.
This statement was contained in the official message made by the governorship candidate of the party in Osun State in the fast-approaching September 22 governorship election, Alhaji Moshood Olalekan Adeoti, while reacting to the official declaration of new members led by the immediate-past State Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Azees Adesiji into ADP.
According to Alhaji Adeoti, while welcoming the new members to the party, the ADP in Osun State is a party that serves as home to all Progressives as the APC shelter is fast becoming desolate.
"In view of the dwindling fortune of the APC in recent times, the only best choice to all Progressives is the ADP which has become a suitable home to all," he reiterated.
While welcoming Alhaji Adesiji and other eight members of the State Executive Committee of the APC that decamped with him, he enjoined all the ADP members to welcome them with open arms and work jointly for the party's success at the governorship election.
"We must work together to ensure victory at the September 22 governorship election and also avoid what led to the mass exodus of committed members from the APC," Alhaji Adeoti stated further.
While calling on more members of other political parties to join the moving train of the ADP in the state, the governorship candidate of the party expressed his optimism on the party's chances at the governorship polls.
Alhaji Adeoti further affirmed his strong belief in the nation's democracy, stressing that the worst of democracy is still far better than any autocratic rule.
He therefore admonished all genuine lovers of democracy to continue to work and pray relentlessly for the success of the current democratic institutions in the country.
"What we need at the moment is a collective prayers of all for the success of all democratic institutions in the country including our President Muhammadu Buhari," he stated further.
