Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has been described as an individual who anybody would love to work with as a leader and boss because of the simple manner in which he guids his followers to achieve results.
Director of Protocol, under the Aregbesola administration, Comrade Abiodun Tiamiyu stated this while paying tribute to Aregbesola at a night tribute organised in of Aregbesola.
He said Aregbesola came to Osun as governor and worked for the development of Osun with all his might and passion.
Comrade Tiamiyu who recalled the swearing in of the governor on November 27, 2010 as the day when God shined the light on because it marked the beginning of the glorious eight years which Osun witnessed development like never before.
The top civil servant described Aregbesola as in three headings, he described him as a deep thinker, a spiritual giant and an embodiment of character, whose lifestyle has influenced him to do greater things in life.
His tribute reads in parts, "As one of those lucky ones to have had the honour and rare privilege of being around Aregbesola constantly, it is therefore fitting and proper to objectively reflect the "behind the scenes" as a student in the school of this incomparable character who remains a mystery to all around him.
"Let me state here that I do not eulogise a saint as I have never come across one. My intention here therefore is to speak of a gadfly revolutionary on whom I had the privilege of composing a voluminous note even before providence brought us together at very close quarters from the often-secret rendezvous of the 'Rasky School of Political Clandestinity.'
"I also wish to categorically state from the outset that this piece will not delve into Aregbesola's uncountable achievements as governor because that has also been fully documented by Dr. Oyebade Olowogboyega, my ideological soulmate who doubles as Acting Secretary to the State Government and Head of Office, State of Osun.
"Tuesday, November 27, 2018 will be an indelible date in the minds of many in my beloved State of Osun. It is the date when the eight glorious and eventful years of my enigmatic principal, political scientist, revolutionary leader and workaholic tutor, Ogbeni AbdulRauf Adesoji Aregbesola will come to a close.
"All through the period of my studentship under this enigma, I couldn't recall this man of humility greeting you and he would stand erect. Ogbeni would crack jokes, hug you and laugh heartily that his laughter would leave no other room for you than join him in the act whether the discussion concerned you or not.
"I attest to it as a bystander that every mail, SMS message or piece of paper would be treated by this brilliant administrator, irrespective of whether it came from high school students or the Iyalojas as long as it is about the progress of Osun.
"On my part, permit me to say with utmost humility that I tried my best to be a reliable lieutenant to a Boss who preferred the path of a leader. For this and other reasons which time and space may not allow me to enumerate here, you shall remain my Boss forever". Comrade Tiamiyu stated.
