The Supervisor for Finance as well as Commerce, Cooperatives and Industries, Mr Bola Oyebamiji has congratulated the National Leader Of the All Progressives Congress,(APC) Chief Adebisi Akande on the celebration of his 80th birthday.
He described the elder statesman as one of the best governors the state has been lucky to have in the last 29 years since the state was created.
This is contained in a congratulatory message signed by the immediate past commissioner for finance and made available to newsmen to mark the 80th birthday of the former governor, Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande.
Mr Oyebamiji through the statement described chief Akande as a rare gem whose positive impact while as governor is still being felt in present day Osun.
He said the achievements of Chief Akande can be described as a template for the continuous growth and development which the APC as a party both at the state and the national level will continue to learn from.
The statement reads in parts, "it is rather unfortunate that the baba Akande's administration was dubiously cut short, and the government that took over from him did not bother to follow baba's footprints of development.
"If the Akande's administration had been allowed to run for two consecutive terms, it is obvious that Osun will not be where it is today, things would have been much more better than the way it is today.
"but we still thank God for bringing in the administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola who was able to dust up the progressive ideals of Chief Bisi Akande for the good of Osun.
"so, we can as well describe the octogenarian leader as the father of modern Osun because his policies has been a model for the progress of the state.
"I wish the one fondly called "Baba Omo Kekeke" a happy birthday as he joins the club of the elderly". Oyebamiji stated through the message.
