A member of the National Assembly, representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke has denied allegations that he connived with some men of the Nigeria Police to attack supporters of the All Progressives Congress' House of Reps candidate, Mr. Siji Olamiju in Ase-Ijesa, Obokun local government area of Osun State.
GTNews learnt this through a statement personally signed by the lawmaker on Wednesday, where he condemned the alleged attack and also an act of the APC candidate and his followers to drag him into what he knew nothing about.
Oke said, "I was not in Osun State when the incident happened, I don't know the Divisional Police Officer in Ibokun and I have never met him in my life
"I do not possess any fire arm and I have never given any fire arm to my teeming supporters in the Constituency. My supporters are law abiding citizens of the state, who conduct themselves in civilised ways.
"Every citizen of Obokun /Oriade knows that I am a man of peace, I don’t have license to carry fire Arms I don’t need to do that. I am a lawmaker and a lawyer by training I am very familiar with our laws and I won’t be a law breaker", Hon Oke stated.
He called on the police and other security operatives to investigate the unfortunate incident and bring the culprits to book.
Oke however charged members of the public, particularly in his Constituency and the state in general to maintain peace and tranquility, in order to have peaceful, free and fair election.
