As the 2019 general election draws nearer, the House of Assembly candidate for Boripe/Boluwaduro state Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC in Osun state, Barr. Femi Popoola has promised to give priority to the welfare of the entire people of his constituency, saying their development will be the main focus of his representation if finally elected.
Popoola who made this assurance while fielding questions from Journalists in Osogbo on Tuesday, also promised that, the constituency who has been co-shared by two local governments will have different representative at the state House of Assembly through his effort if voted.
According to him, "I am going to explore all mechanism within my reach to ensure that my constituents benefited immensely from the government through my representations. I will also ensure that their yearnings and aspirations are adequately taken care of"
"As an experienced lawmaker who have served in the progressives government for years I will be one of the principal officers of the house which will give me the opportunity to attract more projects to my constituency.
It is also a great opportunity for me and my people because I am representing my dear Governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola who hails from Boripe, so because of this, I must not fail by doing my responsibility". He added.
According to Popoola, “At this point in Boripe / Boluwaduro state constituency, we need quality representation. We need someone who will represent the people’s interest and not individualistic interest. When I get to the House of Assembly, our basic needs in this constituency will be thoroughly addressed. This is not my personal race and that is why I am counting on the support of everyone.
“I will operate an all-inclusive representation through regular consultations with the people of my Constituency and come up with the best policies and programmes to achieve success, if I am elected. I know that I cannot do it alone. I want to solicit the complete support and assistance of you my people".
Popoola who appreciated the unalloyed support of the people to him in the past till date, however charged the people of Boripe / Boluwaduro state constituency to troop out enmass during the election and cast their vote for all progressives candidates and not to allow the money bag politicians to buy their voters card from them.
“In a level playing ground where there is a free and fair election, where the electorates are allowed to express and vote according to their conscience, a credible candidate will be voted for and we will have a better Nigeria.
"I would pursue my primary functions of lawmaking with vigour and sponsor of bills and motions that will have positive impact on the entire people" he added.
