Federal Government has condoles with the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) over the loss of its National Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Prof. Archbishop Magnus Atilade who died on January 10, 2019.
Speaking through the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, A.M Abdullahi, it said, the Ministry would always remember the late Atilade as a very important stakeholder who contributed immensely to the health sector, especially in the area of Traditional, Complimentary and Alternative Medicine.
“The ministry will forever be grateful to Archbishop Atilade for his contribution in the establishment of the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP) and his services as the Chairman of Board of Trustees of the association till his death,” the PS said.
The acting BoT National Chairman of NANTMP, Chief Dr. Alhaji Sheu Adamu, also described the deceased as an icon, a legend and a colossus.
He added that The late Magus Atilade taught them, that, “Public service is noble and necessary, that one serves with integrity and hold them to the important values. He strongly believed that it was important to give back to the community and country in which one lived. He recognised that serving others enriched the giver’s soul,” Adamu said.
The NANTMP National Secretary, Dr Kamorudeen Adeagbo who visited the deceased house in Mushin, Lagos with his entourage from Osun state chapter of NANTMP, also described Dr. Atilade’s demise as a big loss to the National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners (NANTMP), whose contribution to the association can never be forgotten in the history of the association.
He then prayed for the deceased may God accept his soul in paradise.
