National Association of Nigerian Traditional Medicine Practitioners members in the southwest zone have been urged to remain united as the region plans to hold election into various positions next year.
Dr. Mrs Abosede Abatan, a member of the Board of Trustees gave the admonition on Wednesday during the zonal meeting held at Owode Ede, Osun state .
She urged the various aspirants to steer clear of any acts that could smear and bring division to the association.
Abatan also advised that members should vote for only those who posses the right qualities to move the association in the region to an enviable height.
Also speaking ,the National General Secretary of the association, Dr. Adeagbo Kamaldeen said the association has had to deal with too many issues of late and has affected the its growth.
He added that the government support being clamoured for could only be achieved when peace thrives.
He said, " The reason for this meeting is to resolve conflicts among members and promote unity with love and honesty as required of us by the federal ministry of health, Federal ministry of Science and Technology and the Nigeria Natural Medicine Development Agency.
We implore us to assist the government and ourselves to take the traditional medince to an enviable height. We all need to stay united to if we want to get the assistance of the government.
For some time now the federal ministry has been holding meetings with us on the need to foster unity between our members. We implore us to borrow a leaf from India, China and other countries where traditional medicine has become a force to reckon with."
