Recently, sea of heads witnessed one of the laudable Projects embarked upon by the administration of hon Adekunle Benson in Ifon Osun as free mobile healthcare services was flagged off as an intervention programme aimed at providing primary healthcare services to hard- to-reach and inaccessible Communities and combating life threatening ailments affecting people of Orolu local government council areas and its environs.

The Chairman of Orolu local government, while speaking, explained that the programme is a component of his development agenda to reposition healthcare and give health inaccessible people access to quality medical care.

The council boss also encouraged people of Orolu to utilise the opportunity to take their children, Husbands, wives and parents for medical screening and treatment for medical conditions that can limit their mental and physical development. 

According to Benson, “If people lack access to good health facilities and quality medical attention, they might lose their ability and functionality. We want to help them fight ailments that can put them at disadvantage".

"On behalf of the people's governor of Osun, Alh Isiaka Oyetola, on behalf of the people of Orolu Kingdom, I hereby flag off this free mobile healthcare programme for the benefit of our people in the name of the Almighty God.” 

Benson also noted that the intention of the free mobile healthcare programme was borne out of the commitment of the  government of the state of Osun to bring down the rate of life threatening ailments and childhood diseases. 

He said that this free mobile healthcare service is not a project but a programme; meaning that it will not stop purposely to increase the access to quality health care services, provide succour for the poorest you paitttq and the needy who require good health care but who cannot afford to pay for it.

 Orolu local government council manager, prince Adewale Adedapo, eulogized the the council chairman, hon  Adekunle Benson for approving the free mobile healthcare intervention as an opportunity for residents to get screened, educated about their health and treated free of charge, adding that it was an investment the local government and the entire people of Orolu would not regret.

According to the medical programme Officer, Mrs Yanju Ojelakin opined that to make it easier, some medical teams are in charge of patients' registration, a doctor for general consultations while a midwife for pregnancy consultations, a Pharmacist and some medical officers are also in charge of the free distribution of medications that are very necessary for the treatment.

Head of Department of the public health centre, in Orolu local government Dr T A Adesina expressed that the most frequent ailments treated on inauguration day includes; malaria, enteric fever, high blood pressure as a result of their insalubrious conditions of leaving. Also, cases of pre and post natal is also achieved, we did HIV and sugar level screening while cases of malnutrition in children were also detected.
