Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN has said, it will not relent in its oars to ensure crime free society.
The Commandant General of the organisation, Dr. Usman Muhammed Jahun(FSI) stated this in Osogbo while addressing the members of the corps who are on project defense at the Corporate Institute of Security and Intelligence Studies Centre in Osogbo.
Jahun who called for joint effort in combating crime noted that the group under his watch will do everything possible to ensure that criminal activities reduce drastically in the country.
He commended the Southwestern governors for assenting to Amotekun Security Network bill, saying this will in no small measures flush out criminal activities in the region.
Speaking on the effort of the group to ensure literacy ability for its members, Dr. Usman said, the group in collaboration with Amadu Bello University, Zaria and approval of Technical Board of Education debut Corporate Institute of Security and Intelligence Studies with the centres in almost 6 states of the federation which Osun state is one.
He said , the motive behind it is to ensure literacy of members of Vigilante Group of Nigeria and also help their carrier as there are other courses in the program which are also professional asides security studies.
Jahun who recalled the effort of the group in providing literacy for its members said, over 12,000 members of the corps have been liberated from zero education level to secondary level, adding that, over 3000 students will also be graduating from Osun centre of the CISIS in April this year.
He charged the incoming graduant to utilised the knowledge acquired during their course in the centre for the betterment of their choose carrier.
Earlier, the Commandant General of the corps have visited the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, Larooye 11where the monarch was awarded for supporting the group in establishing the study centre in Osogbo.
The Monarch appluaded the group for their relentless effort in combating the crime in the society, urging them to increase the tempo of securing the society.
