The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, State of Osun, Mrs Adebimpe Ogunlumade has called on members of staff of the ministry to always observe all the safety guidelines rolled out by government in the fight against the deadly Covid-19.
Mrs Ogunlumade stated that adherence to the safety protocols of Covid-19 will go a long way in assisting the efforts of the Adegboyega Oyetola administration in the fight against the novel Coronavirus.
She stated these on Thursday during a sensitisation meeting on Covid-19 which she held with members of staff of the Ministry of Finance on ways to curb the spread of the virus in the state.
Ogunlumade said it has become imperative for everyone to take responsibility against the virus and ensure that it does not spread beyond the way it has already gone.
While commending the steps taken so far by the government of the state of Osun in curtailing the spread of the virus, Mrs Ogunlumade urged public servants and residents of the state to complement government's efforts in the fight against the virus which is now a threat to human existence.
She stressed that regular washing of hands with soap and running water, use of an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, maintaining of social distancing and other safety protocols still remains the only way to stop the spread of Covid-19.
While urging members of staff to always avoid crowding their office spaces, the Permanent Secretary advised anyone who feels sick to stay at home and consult medical help.
According to her, "The time has come for everyone of us to take responsibility so as to protect ourselves from contracting the deadly Covid-19 which has become a threat to human existence.
"The safety protocols rolled out by government are all for our own good, we must maintain them at all times for us to be safe. Government is doing it's best to curb the spread of the virus, we should not jeopardize these efforts through our carelessness.
"The virus is real and spreading like wild fire, the only recognized way to stop the spread is by strictly adhering to the protocols, we should always use our face masks, maintain social distance, wash our hands regularly, have alcohol based hand sanitizers around us and maintain a general clean hygiene". Ogunlumade stated.
