The Olukoyi of Ikoyi land in Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State, Oba Yisau Bantale Oyetunji Otunla, Kodaolu 1, and Alapomu of Apomu land, Oba Kayode Afolabi, have condemned in totality the clash between the OPC and OPCI in Ikoyi and Apomu communities recently and called for peaceful coexistence.
The Olukoyi and Alapomu who was reacting to the clash between the rivalry group recently said Ikoyi has been a peaceful community, adding that, residents should continue to be maintaining the complete peace.
The traditional rulers, who appealed to the two groups to put aside their differences and live together as one for the sake of peace and unity said there is nothing to gain in fighting each other.
According to the royal fathers, "as a security outfit, you must shun violent behaviours among yourselves and your main objective and aims should be complimenting government efforts in promoting peaceful co-existence through sensitization and awareness campaign aimed at stopping violence in the areas as people are watching you"
The Monarchs, who admonished the residents to be going about their normal business, law abiding and support the government of the day on their efforts to better the lot called on the Police and other security personnel attached to the area to be watchful.
