A community leader in Isokan South Local Council Development Area of Osun State Chief Teslim Raji, a.k.a Akerele, as expressed shock over the death of Nigeria’s first female combatant pilot, Flying Officer, Tolulope Arotile who died following an accident in Kaduna last week.
Akerele made this know on Sunday during the burial ceremony of one Jimoh Hamzat a.k.a Olowo who was killed recently during a clash between a rivalry group in the area.
Akerele who is also the Balogun Isegun of Ikoyi and Apomu land, described the young late pilot, as a promising officer, who demonstrated a high sense of loyalty, patriotism and diligence in her service to Nigeria.
"Arotile, before her death demonstrated a high sense of loyalty, patriotism and commitment to duty to Nigeria" he said.
Akerele, however condemned the recent rivalry group's crisis which led to the death of Jimoh Hamzat in their community saying "we Yoruba should not be attacking ourselves as we are the same children of Oduduwa".
The Community leader who called on the residents to report any criminal activities to the Police noted that, normalcy has return and people were going about their normal businesses saying there is total peace and tranquillity in the entire Ikoyi land.
Akerele who described Hamzat as an easy going and hardworking boy prayed that God will give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
