The State of Osun has been ranked high among the states in the federation on the implementation of developmental projects that are funded by international donors with prompt release of counterpart funds from the State Government.
Having concluded a statewide inspection tour of donor funded projects spread across the state, the International Economic Relations Department of the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning said Osun has been outstanding in the implementation of the projects.
Briefing stakeholders and government agencies involved in the supervision of the projects after the inspection tour, leader of the Federal Government delegation Mr Fagbade Olalekan said the monitoring and evaluation exercise became necessary so as to ensure that standards are met.
He expressed satisfaction at the level of compliance to the project specification as laid down by the financial donors of the projects, stressing that the government of Osun has demonstrated an uncommon transparency and accountability in the implementation of the projects.
According to him, "Having gone round the state to see for ourselves the various projects that were implemented through funds from donor organizations and counterpart funds from the state government of Osun, I can say that we are very satisfied with what we have seen.
"It has been on record that Osun State is one of the states of the Federation that are always faithful in the implementation of donor funded projects. We are not surprised that the state has again demonstrated the zeal to give the best to the masses.
"All the donor intervention projects that we have seen in Osun within the last two days we have been going around are fantastic. This is how it should be done and we are excited, we are excited for two major reasons, our job was made easy and secondly we are happy with what we saw". Mr Fagbade stated.
In a remark at the briefing, Osun Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Prof. Olalekan Yinusa who commended the federal government delegation for their dedication to duty, assured that the State of Osun will continue to put the interest of the people first and will never compromise standard for any reason.
He said Governor Gboyega Oyetola always frown at anything below standard for the masses of the state, hence the need for stakeholders and various agencies of government to always be prudent and accountable while implementing projects.
"In Osun we are lucky to have a Governor who wants the best for his people at all times with any given opportunity, he has set a standard and so nobody under any guise can compromise on the standard already set by Mr Governor himself. That is the reason for what you saw on ground, I can assure you that it will always be like that". The economic expert stated.
Also speaking, Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu assured the delegation that the health delivery standards met at all the health facilities visited will be maintained, explaining that it is the determination of Governor Gboyega Oyetola to continue to provide quality health care to the people.
Projects visited during the two day working visit of the the Federal Government team to Osun include: RAMP II projects, the Save One Million Lives Project, Ilesa Water Supply and Sanitation project among others.
