Reading through the interview granted by the minority leader of the state of Osun House of Assembly, Hon. Babajide Kofoworola, it is glaring that the minority caucus headed by him in the state Assembly has lost direction as legislators, incompetent as representatives, failed innresponsibilty and lacks all it takes to be in position of leadership.
The interview was followed by emotinally driven social media sensation and shallow minded opinion of some PDP social media guys who also displayed same type class ignorance of the workings of the parliament.
In the said interview, Hon.Babajide Kofoworola put all the blames of his inability to perform his duties of legislation and representation at the doorstep of the speaker of the house, Rt.Hon.Timothy Owoeye where he alleged the speaker of partisanship and maltreatment of minority members of the house.
In his assertion, the minority leader confidently displayed his crass ignorance on the workings of the parliament and tied both his internal and external performance on being a Minority leader alone.
His claim of partisanship as the major reason for his bill and motion not to be listed and a shameless stance that his intended motion on roads construction fall under matter of urgent public importance is unfortunate. He should have by now understand that motions under matter of urgent public importance comes under exigent situation that needs instant intervention as considered by a member which requires general debate and the resolution of the house to be executed. Road construction does not fall into such category.
It is obvious that the minority leader has refused to familiarize himself or rather TOO DULL to understand the standing orders and rules of the house and has refused to upgrade by learning on the job as motions and bills are presented through eatablished rules and procedures.
The Minority leader has brought a big shame to his party, the PDP with the development because it implies that the party lacks the needed human capacity to be saddled with serious responsibility especially in the legislative house. Unfortunately, the stae helsman of the party has once occupied a seat in the State house of Assembly as a member.
It is of no use to make a false claim in order to gather sympathy, we therefore challenge Hon. Babajide Kofoworola to tell the public, the title of his bill and make a copy of the motion available to the public and also provide the proof of their rejection by the Speaker.
We sympathize with the Minority leader because it is obviois that he is not well equipped to know that as a legislator, he has rights and previledges which nobody can deny him.
The fact here is that the minority leader is fully aware of his failure as lawmaker and as a represntative of the people and that why he is lamenting in advance. The people of Ede North will soon start to ask him questions. All his claims were to make a cover up for his failure, put the blame on Mr. Speaker and start to discredit our party, the APC, especially in Ede.
We therefore advise the minority leader to focus on the tasks before him as a representative of the people because the blame game will lead him to nowhere.
The business of lawmaking is a serious business.
Signed:
APC MANDATE GROUP EDE.
