A yet to be identified woman has lost her life in a road accident that occurred in Ikire, Osun State, while three other passengers said to be children, were injured.

The accident, it was learnt, involved a truck and a Toyota Corolla.

It was further learnt that the accident was caused by a speed limit violation.

The Sector Public Education Officer of Osun Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, Agnes Ogungbemi, in a chat on Friday, told The PUNCH that the crash would have been averted if the vehicles were speeding.

Ogungbemi said speeding eventually led to the loss of control as the vehicles involved collided.

She said, “The three children who sustained minor injury and shock were given first aid by the O’Ambulance team.

“Also, a woman injured in the accident was taken to Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife by the FRSC Rescue Team. She was later confirmed dead by the doctor at the hospital.”
