Governor of Osun, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola will tommorow be honoured with the award of "Best Performing Governor On Health Intervention" for his outstanding performance in the State's health sector and for making affordable health care available for all citizens.

The award ceremony which is part of activities lined up for the 2021 Press Week of the State Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Osun Council will come up at the Multi-purpose hall of the Local Government Service Commission, State Secretariat by 2pm.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Planning Committee for the Press Week, Mr Tiamiyu Jelili and Mrs Roseline Olawuni and made available to newsmen on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Governor Oyetola has done so much in the health sector to deserve the award, noting that the revitalisation of 322 Primary Health Care Centers across the state and the efforts of the Governor in the fight against the deadly COVID-19 is unprecedented.

The statement also adds that the law maker representing Ayedaade/ Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives in Abuja Hon. (Mrs)Taiwo Oluga will also be honoured with the "Most Outstanding Legislature Award" for being a true representative of her people since she assumed office. 

Also to be honoured at the award ceremony according to the Planning Committee is Mr Diran Fasesin MNI, a recently retired seasoned technocrat who will be honoured with the award of "The Most Outstanding Administrator Award".

The press statement further revealed that the ceremony  will also feature Professional Awards to outstanding officers of the State Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation chapel of the N.U.J.

 

The Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin and  Elegboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba(Engr) Moses Oluwafemi are the  Royal Fathers of the day, while Board Chairman, Osun Health Insurance Agency, Hon.  Adeoye Adelakun is the Chairman of the occasion while Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode is the Chief Host.
