The National Deputy President, Chief Friedrick Fasheun's led Oodua Peoples' Congress, (OPC), Chief Leke Akintayo Olojongbodu, has assured residents of Osun State of adequate security of life and property before, during and after the coming annual Id-el-kabir festival while warning criminals to stay away of the state.
Olojongbodu made this assurance on Wednesday in a press statement issued in Osogbo the Osun State capital and made available to newsmen.
The OPC boss who commended the efforts of the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Olawale Olokode and his men in tackling criminal activities since he assumed the state said the OPC men were battle ready in collaboration with the Police and other security personnel to ensure there is adequate protection of the entire state during the festival.
Olojongbodu, who admonished the entire residents to always be vigilante and report any criminal activity in their various communities to the security agents assured the people not to entertain any fear before, during and after Ileya festival.
"I don't know why people should be panic again when our amiable governor of the state, Mr Gboyega Oyetola has put every necessary measures in place towards complete protection of the whole state.
"The contribution of Governor Oyetola towards adequate security of life and property in Osun cannot be over emphasised as he is working assiduously to ensure total peace for all and sundry.
" Only what we need now is for the citizens to demonstrate their unalloyed support and corporation to the incumbent administration and the security agents to make sure there is total peace because security issue is a collective work" Olojongbodu said.
The OPC Leader who congratulates Mr Governor, Muslims and the whole state for this year Id-el-kabir also commends the efforts of the state Security Adviser to the governor on Security, Mrs Abiodun Ige saying she is a workaholic and dedicated officer when it comes to the issue of security work.
