The Chairman of the house committee on Finance & Appropriation, Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Bayo Olodo, after the conclusion of 2022 budget consideration said that the appropriation would promote sustainable development and the advancement of the State's economy.
In view of the prevailing economic realities, he said that the goal of the budget is to achieve inclusive socio-economic growth that is rooted in the 10-Year Osun Development Plan (2019-2028).
Governor Gboyega Oyetola had presented the appropriated budget to the house in October.
The details of the Appropriation Bill revealed that the larger chunks were earmarked for infrastructure, education and health sectors, with the Agriculture sector also getting its fair share.
The house on Monday has concluded the 2022 budget defence exercise organised for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the Osun government and chaired by the chairman of the Committee on Finance & Appropriations.
Olodo appreciated Governor Gboyega Oyetola for his support to the assembly and the people of the state for his commitment to realizing inclusive governance.
He also lauded the Governor for his determination to further improve social services and infrastructure in the state, saying Oyetola has taken the state a step ahead as a good manager of human and capital resources.
He also appreciated the ministries, departments and agencies of the Osun government for their support throughout the budget consideration.
