The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom and the Paramount Ruler of Oriade Local Government area of Osun State, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya ll, has called on local and international investors to come to Erinmo and set up businesses that would boost the economy of the area and reduce unemployment.
Oba Arowotawaya who was fielding questions from our correspondent in his palace on Tuesday said that establishing corporate organisations in Erinmo Community would create job opportunities for the youths, thereby reducing unemployment.
According to the traditional ruler, interested investors are assured of an enabling environment and security, among others.
Oba Arowotawaya, also hinged his call on indigene of the ancient Erinmo to come home to invest on the need to harness the vast opportunities in the state for its development, saying: “Nobody will develop this place for us if we don’t. So our people have to come here to invest.
“There are lots of opportunities here that people should tap into. There are avenues for partnership with the state government. There are tourism potentials in the state. Our land is fertile for agriculture and Erinmo can produce the food that can feed the nation”, he said
Similarly, "We want both local and international investors to establish companies and industries that can create employment opportunities for our youths.
“This will minimise the crime rate, illicit drug abuse and other social vices.
“Here in Erinmo, we will provide an enabling environment, good security and all for interested investors,” he said.
Oba Arowotawaya, said that there were investment opportunities in the areas of tourism, agriculture, health care, entertainment, commerce, tertiary institutions, government projects, Good and accessible motorable express roads in and around Erinmo among others.
The Monarch however enjoined youths and residents of the ancient Erinmo town to continue to be law abiding.
