Olojo Festival - Elerinmo Congratulates Ooni.
The Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom in Oriade Local Government area of Osun State, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi Arowotawaya II, has join other well meaning people to congratulates the Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja II on the celebration of this year Olojo Festival.
According to the Elerinmo in his Congratulatory Message issued and made available to newsmen on Saturday, "the Ooni's effort to promote our culture and tradition did not only put the ancient Ile-Ife on world map, but his efforts has further promoted the entire black race as an entity as well as showcasing Africa as the origin of human civilisation".
Oba Arowotawaya, who also congratulated the entire residents of Ile-Ife for witnessing the 2022 edition of the cultural festival, described Ooni Ogunwusi as a distinguished royal father and worthy ambassador of the state and entire nation.
The Elerinmo who has already joined the Ooni to celebrate the festival with him along side his large entourage also commended the traditional ruler’s commitment to the peace, stability, and development of Osun State and Nigeria as a whole since he ascended the throne.
The Elerinmo who said he was delighted to see how people of Ile-Ife have been so passionate and committed to the preservation of cultural heritage, said for a society to be societal, it must be cultural, saying society and culture are
intertwined.
“The culture and tradition of a people are their identities as it affords them due recognition. It is their underlying distinguishing factor from other peoples and cultures. In fact, all societies across the globe have various and divergent cultures which they cherish and practice,” Oba Arowotawaya said.
The Monarch in the message tasked Nigerians to protect their cultural heritage which he said serves as true identities of all tribes and ethnic nationalities.
According to him, “people and culture are inseparable since there is no denial of the fact that what makes human society is its culture".
The Elerinmo on behalf of his royal family and entire residents of Erinmo-Ijesa kingdom wishes the Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi Ojaja 11 a joyous celebration and prays that the famous Ooni lives long with good health to celebrate more of the festivals as he continues to pilot the affairs the Yoruba race, as a leader and spiritual father to all.
