The video sparked outrage and the priest has now apologised for his actions. In a new video shared by @Catholic4ever on TikTok, the priest is seen meeting with the family of the altar boy he knocked. The priest explained that the knock happened "accidentally" and "mistakenly". The priest also apologised to the boy he knocked. "I'm sorry for what happened. It was not a deliberate act," the priest said. He added that he knocked the boy "unconsciously" because the groom's voice was not loud enough due to the positioning of the mic The family of the boy responded that they have not seen the video.
