Osun State House of Assembly has lauded the unwavering commitment of Governor, Ademola Adeleke towards ensuring that the state is free from gender-based violence.
Deputy chairman house committee on women and children Affairs,Honourable Adesina Rabiu made this commitment in Osogbo while addressing participants at the inauguration,orientation and a 4-day training of members of the multi- stakeholders on gender based violence ( GBV) prevention.
He reiterated the commitment of the State House of Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Adewale Egbedun to actively engage in reviewing and perfecting any existing laws against gender-based violence.
He assured the readiness of the state parliament to ensure that a strong legislative frameworks that will hold perpetrators accountable and as well provide support for survivors.
Honourable Adesina Rabiu( ARA) stated that Osun State House of Assembly is doing its best in the area of passing quite number of laws that are primarily domesticated to deal with any person caught in gender based violence.
The Lawmaker representing Iwo State Constituency urged, security operatives and judiciary arm of government to ensure quick dispensation of justice on any case on gender based violence .
Honourable Rabiu alongside his colleague Honourable Adekunle Oladimeji jointly commended the action aid for putting in place such a wonderful advocacy campaign in the state.
