Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has expressed optimism that President Bola Tinubu's economic policies will yield significant positive results by 2025.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday in Osogbo, Oyintiloye acknowledged that while the current economic reforms have introduced temporary challenges, they are essential for long-term prosperity.
He noted that although some benefits are already emerging, Nigerians can expect the full impact of these policies in 2025.
He highlighted the removal of the petrol subsidy and the unification of the naira exchange rate as pivotal reforms that, despite causing short-term discomfort, are anticipated to bring substantial benefits in the near future.
Additionally, he pointed to the recent reduction in petrol pump prices as an encouraging sign of an improving economic outlook.
Oyintiloye also mentioned that President Tinubu's economic reforms have led to a significant increase in revenue allocations from the Federation Account to various states, enabling them to enhance development initiatives.
He referenced the president's approval of a $2.25 billion economic injection, sourced from the World Bank, aimed at supporting economic reforms and alleviating the cost-of-living crisis.
This funding is intended to reduce interest rates in key sectors and provide credit lines to businesses of varying sizes.
He urged Nigerians to continue supporting and cooperating with the president, emphasizing that the sacrifices made this year are expected to yield rewards in the coming year.
