Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has directed a restriction on vehicular movement across the state from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday as the local government elections take place.
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor instructed security agencies to enforce the restriction to ensure a peaceful electoral process. He emphasized that only voters, accredited media personnel, and civil society organizations would be allowed to move freely during the period.
The statement further highlighted Governor Adeleke’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state. He stressed that the restriction was necessary to prevent any external interference or disruption by hoodlums. Security agencies have been mandated to strictly implement the directive while allowing essential movements related to the election.
