Abuja, March 19, 2025 – The PCNG Initiative expresses deep sorrow over the tragic accident that occurred on the Karu Bridge, between Kugbo and Nyanya in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Our heartfelt condolences go out to the victims, their families, and all those affected by this unfortunate incident.

In response to initial reports suggesting the involvement of a bi-fueled truck and a petrol tanker, we urge the public to exercise patience and await the findings of a comprehensive investigation to determine the precise cause of the explosion. Preliminary accounts point to a possible brake system failure, leading to the ignition of the petrol storage tank. However, it is imperative to avoid speculation until a thorough assessment is completed.

The PCNG Initiative remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting the safe and sustainable adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a cleaner alternative fuel.
