Social critic and activist, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has challenged the Nigeria Police Force to take him to court over his allegations that some police officers aid kidnappers and other criminal elements.
VDM's reaction followed an invitation by the police asking him to come forward and provide evidence to substantiate claims he made concerning alleged police involvement in criminal activities.
The controversial activist made the allegations while speaking at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Tuesday, August 27.
Responding to the police through a social media post, VDM insisted that he stood by his comments and declared that the appropriate place for him to present his evidence would be in court.
According to him, the police should charge him to court if they believe his allegations are defamatory or unfounded.
“To the Nigerian police, I SAID WHAT I SAID. You will get your evidence when I am charged to court. I repeat, the police are the unknown gunmen and they aid kidnappings, and the military are also the unknown gunmen.
“CHARGE ME TO COURT, YOU WILL GET THE EVIDENCE THERE,” he wrote.
His latest comments are expected to further fuel the controversy surrounding his allegations and the response of the Nigeria Police Force.
