The Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, to congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election. Bamidele made the call in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday. Adeleke was declared the winner of the recently concluded Osun State governorship election after polling 511,067 votes, defeating his APC opponent, Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes. The Senate Majority Leader appealed to all the candidates who participated in the election to accept the outcome and respect the decision of the electorate. He specifically called on Oyebamiji to reach out to Adeleke, congratulate him on his victory and offer ideas that could contribute to the development of Osun State. Bamidele said the election had come and gone, stressing that the priority of political leaders should now be the progress and wellbeing of the people of the state. He encouraged all stakeholders to put political differences aside and work towards building a better and more prosperous Osun State.
